EG SIM Not Registered

Hello, I have just purchased an EG SIM card and have not been able to register it for data use. I completed the registration process with no success, and when I try the recommended troubleshooting steps online, I get a message reading “Mobile phone number is suspended and is not available. Please get the new EG SIM CARD.” I purchased the card new at a convenience store at Seoul Station and have never used it before.
