About Using What Should I do if I can not connect to the free olleh wi-fi after purchase offline or online?

In order to connect to the free olleh wi-fi after purchase offline or online, you will have to apply for a data plan more than 500MB and register your wifi mac address on our system by contacting us. 

Please note that whenever you top up new data, you need to re-register your wifi mac address even if it is already registered.

   - Go to settings>more settings>about phone(about device or my device)>status>wifi mac address for ANDROID version.

About Using What Should I do if your phone still does not work after trying to do start-up procedure when purchase offline or online ?

It sometimes happens that your phone still doesn't work even after trying to do start-up procedure. In that case, please contact us after checking your phone number and imei.

About Using How do I use data using website after purchase offline or online?

When you bought the EG SIM Card online or offline, you can use both the calls and data with the EG SIM Card. If you need data, you have only to transfer the credit from your voice balance to data by using our apps. Please note that you cannot recharge data directly.

Suppose you have 30,000 KRW balance account and you need data 1GB (it costs 16,500 KRW). 
If you try to apply for data 1GB, 16,500 KRW will be deducted automatically from the voice balance 30,000 KRW and you can use 13,500 KRW for voice calling

1) 5GB is 44,000krw (Olleh wi-fi is available, 30 day-Validity)

2) 3GB is 33,000krw (Olleh wi-fi is available, 30 day-Validity)

3) 2GB is 22,000krw (Olleh wi-fi is available, 30 day-Validity)

4) 1GB is 16,500krw (Olleh wi-fi is available, 30 day-Validity),    

5) 500MB is 11,000krw (Olleh wi-fi is available, 30 day-Validity), 

6) 100MB is 5,500krw (Olleh wi-fi is unavailable, 30 day-Validity)

1. How to apply for a data plan 


Step 1: Download EG SIM card apps at app store or play store.

Step 2: Tap Your account > Apply for / terminate data service.

Step 3: Tap items of data plan, such as 500MB, 1GB.

Step 4: Tap OK button to complete top-up transaction.

Step 5: Upon successful top up,you will receive a SMS notification on your data balance and expiry date.


Note that you have only to apply for a data plan again after finishing your current data. Otherwise, your remaining data will be gone. New data won't be added to the existing data.

If your voice balance comes to zero, you cannot use your data temporarily. But if you recharge your voice balance again, you can use your data again. Don't make  your  voice balance comes to zero.

Data is always available for 30 days only from the date you top it up. 30 days after you top it up, it will be cancelled automatically e
ven if there is data.


2. How do I apply for a data plan if my data has zero balance account while in use data ?  


Step 1: Enter your phone number,  

Step 2: Tap Top up > Data top-up,  

Step 3: Tap OK button to complete top-up transaction.

Step 4: Upon successful top up,you will receive a SMS notification on your data balance and expiry date.


Note that if your account balance is insufficient to transfer data, you will have to top up your voice balance first by using global credit card.

Step 2 Tap My account > Check phone number  

Step 3 Enter phone number (omit -) and Tap search button.

Step 4 Tap data terminate button.    

Step 5 Tap My account > Check phone number  

Step 6 Enter phone number (omit -) and Tap search button.

Step 7 Tap data recharge(transfer) button.     

Step 8 Choose data service option that you need.

Step 9 Tap apply button and wait for a couple of minutes until 

transaction is completed. 

Step 10 Upon successful transfer(top up), you will receive a SMS notification on balance and expiry date and data product amount.

 

3. How do I change the data between 1GB, 500 and 100MB ?

You have only to terminate your existing data and then transfer a new data that you need again.

About Using How do I use data using apps ?

About Using How do I activate my sim card after buying it at Selling Points ?

You should activate it before you using it in your phone under connected wifi zone or with another phone after you buy the EG sim card at those selling points.

* Please note that one person can use one simcard ONLY.
* Koreans, dual nationality holders including Korean nationality, Seamen, flight attendants, US Army soldiers in Korea not able to use EG simcards.


And even if you're an overseas passport holder, but if you have an Alien Registration Card or Residence Report Card of Oversea Koreans issued by Korean Government, you cannot use EG simcard but EG CARD at our head office in Insa-dong.

[1] How to recognize your simcard physically on the phone
 Put your simcard into your phone and restart the phone 3-4 times with wifi off, data roaming off, data network on.
If it works, you can see the signal 'H' or 'H+' next the time on your display.

Step 4 : Fill in the order form.
(1) Phone number - Enter phone number on the sim card envelope.

(3) Date of entry - It's very important.

About Purchasing How do I know if my sim card activated after applying for sim card activation ?

You will get SMSs included balance and expiry date if the sim card is activated. Sometimes you could not receive a SMS if your phone can not connect our 3G network even though the activation is successful. In that case, you might check it via our webpage as follows.

* Please note that one person can use one simcard ONLY.

3. How to apply for a data plan

*  You cannot recharge your data directly. Instead, you can only use data plan by transferring your voice balance through our apps or website.  
In that case, some money will be deducted from your voice balance to data.

* Notes
- Data is available for 30 days only from the date you top it up.
- Please note that even if there is data, you cannot use your data temporarily if your voice balance comes to zero. Don't make your voice balance comes to zero. But if you recharge your voice balance again, you can use your data again.
- You can top up new data after finishing your data. When there is data if you top up new data, your remaining data will be gone. New data won't be added to the existing data.

Step 1: Download EG SIM card apps at app store or play store.

you can see your balance and validity for data and voice.

Step 6 Upon successful transfer(top up), you will receive a SMS notification on your new card balance and expiry date and data product amount that you selected will be automatically deducted from your voice account .

About Purchasing What is the difference between online and offline shop ?

* If you buy EG simcard via online,  you can pick it up at a Pick up place or receive it at a designated address by local delivery service. 

* If you buy it via online, you don't need to activate it by yourself. It will be handed to you after activation. Just put your simcard into your phone and restart your phone 3-4 times with wifi off, data roaming off, data network on.

But if you buy it at offline, you need to activate it by yourself through m.egsimcard.co.kr. And apart from uploading the copy of passport, you need to restart your phone 3-4 times with wifi off, data roaming off, data network on after putting your simcard into the phone.

* One of the differences between online and offline is business hours in Pick up places and selling points. Especially, when you arrive in airport so early or late, you can
t collect EG Sim card at Pick up places but you will have to buy it at specific selling points directly.

About Purchasing How do I use the domestic delivery Service when ordering online ?

If you buy a EG simcard via online by global credit card, you can make it deliver to your designated address by local delivery service such as Hotel, house, office and so on, including Jeju Island (International delivery service is not available any more).


1) Note that you have to fill out your shipping information below.

- Address and contact number, check-in name (contact person) where you will be staying in Korea.

- Using this contact number, delivery guy is going to call someone at your staying address (Front desk) to inform the delivery date and time before your package is delivered.
- If your shipping information is wrong or leave out, your package will not be delivered.
 

2) When will you provide me with my local Korean phone number ?  

You will know it when we shipped the packages to your designated address.


3) How much is it ?
  

You will pay for it depends on the plan you choose.
   - Awesome plan(60,000krw / 5GB+voice balance 11,000krw)
   - Basic plan Talk(50,000krw / 2GB+voice balance 20,000krw)
   - Talk plan(30,000krw / 1GB+voice balance 10,000krw)
   - Saving plan(voice balance 15,000krw without data)
And sim card fee and domestic shipping fee are separate as below.

- Dual simcard(Regular & Micro) simcard : 5,500krw(online, it's for free) 
- Nano sim Card : 9,900kw(online it's 5,000krw)  

(2) Domestic shipping fee is 3,500 KRW
     (Jeju island or hilly region is 5,500krw)

4) How do I use data service ?

You can use both voice calling and data depends on the plan you choose.  

If you choose Saving plan but want to use data, you can use 500MB or 100MB. Or you can use 1GB, or 2GB, or 3GB, or 5GB after additional recharge to your voice account and transferring credit from your voice balance to data by yourself via our apps or website.

Please note that 

· Data charges are non-refundable while using the data service,

· Data balance will not be carried to the next month,

· Data balance will not be added when you transfer data from your voice account while in use.

· If your voice credit has zero balance or data credit has zero balance, or your phone number is expired, you can't use data temporarily until you top up for voice or data.

5) Will I have to activate Sim Card ?  

You don't need to activate it if you buy it via online. It will be handed to your after activation. Just put your simcard into your phone and restart the phone 3-4 times with wifi off, data roaming off, data network on.

6) Can I order online more than one EG SIM Card at a time with same delivery address? 

It is possible to buy simcards more than one on our website. But in that case, you need to make an order several times. For example, if you want to buy 3 simcards, you need to place an order three times. Because you need to upload the copy of passport for each person.

If you want to receive 3 simcards by local delivery service, just make the first order for a local delivery service and pay shipping fee. And make two orders for Picking up at a pick up place and let us know the three order numbers. Then you can receive them at the same place without additional shipping fee for two orders.

Step 1 : Select EG SIM card and Buy button.

Step 2 : Fill in Billing/Shipping address. 

Step 3 : Upload copy of passport for subscriber Identification.

Step 4 : Fill in basic information about you.

Step 5 : Make a payment using credit card.  


< Repeat : Second Order >  

Step 1 : Select EG SIM card and Buy button again.

Step 2 : Choose toggle button as as in figure below  

        if this is new order add to same delivery address and same receiver.

Step 3 : Choose the pick up place

Step 4 : Upload copy of passport for subscriber Identification.

Step 5 : Fill in basic information about you.

Step 6 : Make a payment using credit card. 

And let us know the two order numbers. Then we will send you two simcards to your designated address in the first order.

Am I supposed to receive a confirmation email with the order number?  

It is possible to to check/receive your order again on our website. 

(1) Visit our website and login 

(2) Click Home > My account > Order history.

 

8) Am I supposed to place an order again when my payment was failed during the order processing?  

There no need to place an order again, it is possible to make a payment again on our website. 

(1) Visit our website and login 

(2) Click Home > My account > Order history.

(3) Click the red button in the payment item.

(4) Fill up the necessary information on webpage and follow webpage instructions to complete order transaction.
